Ken completed an Agricultural Science degree with honours at the University of Western Australia in 1983. Ken has worked in the turf industry since 1986.
He was a Turf Manager at the WACA cricket ground from 1986 until 1991. In this role he was responsible for the preparation of cricket wickets and sporting surfaces for international cricket, football and lacrosse.
Ken started his own turf consultancy business (Sports Turf Technology) in 1990, which he still part owns and operates. He was the principal author and researcher for the Turf Irrigation and Nutrient Study, a 3 year project funded by local government and state government authorities. He has been a Committee member of the UWA “Turf Industries Research Steering Committee” since its establishment in 1995.
Ken attained Certification for Irrigation Auditing (Landscape) in 2004, from the Irrigation Australia (IAL). Ken received further recognition from the IAA by attaining Certification as an Irrigation Agronomist in 2007.
Peter completed a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Horticulture with honours at the University of Queensland, Gatton College in 1990. Peter has worked in the turf industry since 1990.
Peter joined Sports Turf Technology in 2002 and is part owner of the company. He is a past president of the Turf Grass Association of Australia (WA).
Peter was the Technical Services Manager for Chemturf Pty Ltd, a national supplier of turf maintenance products, from 1990 to 1999.
Peter then moved to Perth and worked at the Christ Church Grammar School Playing Fields, Mt Claremont, from 1999 to 2001. He was responsible for the maintenance and preparation of sports fields for cricket, football, hockey, soccer and rugby, and gained a trade certificate in turf management in 2000.
Peter attained Certification for Irrigation Auditing (Landscape) in 2004, from the Irrigation Australia (IAL). Peter received further recognition from the IAA by attaining Certification as an Irrigation Agronomist in 2007.
Marie has worked in the turf industry since 1991.
She completed a turf management apprenticeship at Scotch College, Swanbourne in 1994. In 2003 she completed a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and Viticulture with honours at the University of Western Australia. Marie is currently studying a Master of Hydrogeology at UWA.
Marie has a wide range of turf management experience, having worked in private schools, golf courses, and turf maintenance contracting.
Marie joined Sports Turf Technology in 2004 and her role includes report writing, compiling monitoring data and groundwater management.
Alberto completed his Diploma of Agricultural Studies at the Lombriasco Institute, Turin, Italy, while working as part of a parks and gardens team.
He then completed his Science degree in Agriculture and Technology at the University of Agricultural Studies, Turin, Italy. Alberto recently completed his Cert. IV in Sports Turf Management her in Perth, Western Australia.
He went on to work at various golf clubs around Italy before moving to Bristol, England to work at Filton Golf Club and refine his English skills.
Alberto joined Sports Turf Technology in 2010 and his role is field work, including sample collection and various monitoring.
